Mastering for digital downloads is carried out in the much the same way as mastering for the compact disc (CD) digital format.
We usually supply 44.1 kHz/16-bit .wav mastered files back to you for your digital download requirements but can supply greater resolution formats for HD digital downloads if required and if you request this at the time of booking a session.
Mastered for iTunes involves using higher-resolution files and this is also a service we provide. Higher resolution formats can include 44.1 kHz/24-bit .wav mastered files, however 96 kHz/24-bit .wav mastered files can be supplied if requested prior to the session taking place. We are an officially recognised ‘Mastered For iTunes’ studio.
Please remember that domestically, the “outside world” requires 44.1 kHz/16-bit .wav files as its standard format. That’s before we get into the argument of MP3 files and the like!
